Welcome to EarplugsGuide’s very own Zyppah Review!
First of all, it sounds weird doesn’t it? Zyppah. At first glance you may be wondering what type of anti-snoring device this is. For starters, Zyppah is Happy Z spelled backwards, which is what you will be getting if this device works to cure your snoring – more Happy Z’s.
Zyppah addresses an area that not many others are focused on when it comes to eliminating snoring – the tongue.
For many who suffer from snoring, the solution is a slight adjustment. These individuals who endure night after sleepless night just need their tongue to shift a bit forward.
This is where the Zyppah comes in, and when it does, then put your seatbelt on – literally. Well, at least your tongue seatbelt.
This technology acts as a seatbelt for your tongue. As you sleep, the Zyppah device keeps your tongue strapped in so that it stays in place and doesn’t block your airway. What results is a great night’s rest and no more complaints from your loved ones about your snoring.
There’s a lot to learn about the Zyppah and we want to ensure you know everything from our Zyppah Review that you need, ESPECIALLY if you are considering purchasing it.
Let’s take a closer look.
Zyppah Review: What Is The Zyppah?
A former dentist named Dr. Jonathan Greenburg created the Zyppah.
This is a great piece to make a note of, as dentists often times have seen patients with snoring problems and have a good insight into what may be causing it.
At least, that is the common assumption as they are medical practitioners whose specialty deals with the mouth.
The other positive thing to keep in mind is since a dentist developed it, you can be sure that it will be safe for your teeth.
The make up of the Zyppah is simple in design as it is basically a mouth piece with an elastic strap attached for your tongue. This design addresses your jaw and your tongue.
How Does The Zyppah Work?
Now, before we get into how the actual device works, we want to cover the set up.
To get the device to fit as best as possible, the first thing you will need to do is get it fitted to your mouth. You will need the following to do so:
- ZYPPAH Appliance
- Mirror (Preferably a wall mirror)
- Utensil (Like a fork)
- Hot Water
- Paper Towels
- Timer
When you drop the device into the hot water, it will allow the soft rubber to be pliable enough for you to mold it for a custom fit.
Simply use the utensil to pick up the device by the elastic band. Hold by the gray frontal area for a few seconds, then place into your mouth to mold.
You will want to place it on your lower teeth first, then bring your upper teeth into the device as you position your jaw. You will then bite down to create a custom fit of the device to your mouth.
The Zyppah takes into account two areas that may be adding to your snoring – your tongue and your jaw.
The Zyppah stabilizes the tongue through a patent-pending band of elastic that holds the tongue in place, much like a seatbelt holds you in place as you travel in a vehicle.
No matter how fast the vehicle goes, how it turns or even brakes, your body stays in place and stays safe. Much of the same can be said of your tongue in this seat belt of sorts.
Regardless of if you are sleeping on your back, toss and turn to the right or to the left, your tongue will stay in the same place thanks to this seat belt.
The other area that the Zyppah addresses is your jaw. For many people who snore, a simple repositioning of their jaw slightly forward helps to open up their airway a little more so they can breathe easier throughout the night.
This simple clearing of the airway helps to eliminate the snoring, as air can now be moved through your throat with the reduced blockage.
When you add these two things together, what you will find is a clearing of your airway in an innovative manner that addresses the various ways it can become blocked during sleep, and add to your snoring.
Now that your tongue cannot relax and block your throat, and your jaw is slightly positioned forward, you can sleep in any position and breathe much more freely.
This is the way the Zyppah works to open up your airway so you can get a better night’s sleep and hopefully put an end to your snoring. This video visualizes what we’ve just said:
How Does The Zyppah Differ From Other Anti-Snoring Devices?
Well, it looks the Zyppah is truly a one-of-a-kind device. Why? Other anti-snoring devices on the market typically address specific areas.
In many of them you will find that they address the position of the jaw, as the positioning of the jaw can have a direct relationship to the ability of your throat to open up, and in turn affect your breathing during the night.
There are a few that address the tongue and the positioning of the tongue as you sleep. The tongue is a muscle and as with any muscle, as you sleep and relax, it does as well.
What this results in is a relaxed tongue that falls back into your throat blocking your airway and causing you to snore and have a disruptive night of sleep.
The Zyppah takes these areas into account, to hit it with a combination that opens up your airway as much as possible.
While other devices on the market may allow you to adjust the position of the jaw in increments, what they are failing to do is recognize IF the jaw is ACTUALLY the root of the problem when it comes to your snoring.
This is what makes the Zyppah so powerful, as it takes into account the different parts of your mouth and addresses them to ensure that you are getting the best night of sleep that you possibly can.
A word of caution though, as one thing you have to keep in mind is whether or not the problem is in your mouth. What we mean by that is if your snoring is being caused by your nasal passages, then no amount of jaw realignment or tongue stabilization will help with your snoring.
The best way for you to find out what is causing your snoring is to see your doctor, or even a sleep specialist.
Is The Zyppah Right For You?
If you suffer from snoring that is being caused by your tongue and blocking your airway, as well as your jaw needing to be positioned in a certain way, then this product could very well help with your snoring.
The product was designed to treat snoring, not sleep apnea. We will discuss sleep apnea further in this Zyppah review, but the important thing to keep in mind is that you need to find out what is causing your snoring.
Once you can speak to a medical professional to find the root cause of your snoring, you can then better determine if the product is right for you.
If you want to try the device to see if it will help with your snoring because you believe it is your tongue causing the problem, then you can do so as well. After all, they offer full money back guarantee for 90 days - and that's plenty of time to give Zyppah a test-drive.
Zyppah Reviews: What Are Users Saying?
Product Website Testimonials:
One user said that the product worked just as the website said it would. One of the things to note is that the user mentioned following the directions exactly as they are laid out for the Zyppah.
The user did mention that it is a bit tight before he uses it, but found that soaking it in warm water before use each night did help. So what was the end result? The user said his snoring is now gone.
Another user mentioned that the acclimation period of using the device was not a concern, but that it does fall out of her mouth every now and again. One word of advice from the user was not to boil the water when you are molding the piece, but instead to use really hot water. While this user does mention it falls out now and again, she goes on to say that it does work and recommends it.
Yet another user mentioned some of the same things that seem to be a theme with not only the Zyppah, but with anti-snoring devices in general. The user mentioned needing some time to get used to it and that he woke up a few times with it out of his mouth, but found that once he was able to get used to it that his snoring stopped.
One of the other things that he mentioned was his breathing got better, and his spouse mentioned that his breathing improved a lot while he slept. His recommendation was to mention the breathing benefits that come along side this device.

From Other Websites:
There were three reviews of this product that were done on Amazon.
Unfortunately, they were low ratings that were given for them and not much other information was provided from the reviewers except to say that the product did not work for them.
However, one of the reviewers did mention that the set up was easy and that the mouthpiece was comfortable.
As with many of these types of reviews, the less information that is shared by the reviewer the harder it is to tell what was really going on.
For example, if the snoring were being caused by something other than the tongue and jaw, then it most surely would not have worked.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that the company by no means claims that their product cures sleep apnea. Here is a quote directly from their site:
“The Zyppah is designed for snoring only and should not be used to treat sleep apnea. However, the Zyppah Company is totally committed to your health and happiness, and that certainly includes the treatment of sleep apnea. We do offer a professional oral appliance that is customized for each individual obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) sufferer. In many cases, our professional Zyppah can provide an alternative to CPAP.”
